In October 1994, Metallica bassist Jason Newsted joined forces with
22 year-old guitar virtuoso Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad,
and legendary Bay Area metal drummer Tom Hunting of Exodus to
form the infamous IR8 project.
The uber metal trio set the precedent for the work ethic of the
Chophouse with 100 hours of labor over six days to give birth
to the mighty "Colossus" (the Chophouse anthem), along with
the thrash metal tracks "Black on Black" and "Nothing."

SEXOTURICA
In March 1995...following closely in the steps of "Colossus"
and intent on keeping the Chophouse iron hot in between
busy touring schedules, Newsted and Hunting invited incredibly
talented metal guitarist Andreas Kisser of Sepultura into the
Chophouse fold, for one solid day of pure raw music.
The result is three full bore classics; "Zone of Death," "Alone,"
and "Dead Soul at Sleep." Three metalheads staying true to
their roots.
