Nati nel 1997 a Washington D.C. come gruppo Grindcore con elementi death/thrash/trullullì e trallallà e presto diventati parte integrante del genere. La componente politica e di protesta contro l'autorità ha una sua rilevanza nel gruppo (da qui il nome "Pig" = maiale = oink oink = poliziotto).
Lo zoccolo duro (o zoccola dura) è formato da J.R. Hayes alla voce, Scott Hull alla chitarra e Blake Harrison ai "rumori del cazzo", mentre la batteria e tutte le bacchette inizialmente affidate a John Evans, vennero poi prese prepotentemente da Brian Harvey.
Ah! quasi me ne dimenticavo, nei Pig Destroyer non esiste il basso, forse non se ne sono accorti ma a noi ce ne frega un cazzo sinceramente, perchè va benissimo così.
