"The Hellfest has decided independently and in all conscience to cancel SATANIC WARMASTER's performance. This decision was in no way caused by the pressure received by various small groups against the event.

"We had decided to confirm this artist when we noticed a strong demand.

"The ideology and political values adopted by some artists have never been selection criteria for the festival; we leave the right to each and everyone to forge their own opinions about the artists performing at the festival, and we are not bringing our event on political grounds which have nothing to do with the music. However, we have received a large number of complaints partly from festival-goers but also from artists, considering this artist to be conflicting with the festival's state of mind, and ready to settle things with a fight.

"We are not here to take position in this debate. The Hellfest is a celebration above all else, its purpose is not to divide, but to unite an audience under a single banner: passion for heavy music.

"It appears to be impossible to find an adequate solution without risking irreversible damage or violent comportments during the festival which is to take place next June.

"The Hellfest's purpose isn't to judge one's opinions, but to insure a peaceful and friendly gathering. Consequently, we have decided to cancel SATANIC WARMASTER's performance in order to insure order and safety during the festival. Clan wars related to difference of opinion do not have their place at the Hellfest.

"The festival would like to apologize to fans of this artist, and wishes to reaffirm its independent and apolitical position. We will not jeopardize this event that has taken years to develop for reasons which are unrelated to music and have nothing to do with the purpose of this festival."

HELLFEST: IN FLAMES e DARK TRANQUILLITY confermano, TRUST e LOCK UP fuori dal bill

"Sfortunatamente dobbiamo annunciare che altre due band sono state costrette a cancellare la loro presenza all' HELLFEST 2011.

La prima defezione riguarda i TRUST. Si riporta la dichiarazione ufficiale della band:

"Sfortunatamente, i TRUST non potranno suonare il 18 giugno al festival Hellfest. La band non farà concerti per un periodo di tempo ancora non definito. Vorremmno precisare che questa decisione non è in alcun modo collegata all'organizzazione dell'Hellfest stesso."

La seconda cancellazione dalla scaletta riguarda di LOCK UP, che avrebbero dovuto suonare sabato 18 giugno nell'area Hard Rock. Un'incompatibilità con la lista di concerti prevista per il loro tour attuale li ha costretti a rinunciare.

L'organizzazione si scusa per queste cancellazioni, ma vorrebbe annunciare le band che rimpiazzeranno le band dimissionarie, nonchè altre 3 gradite sorprese!

Con grande piacere confermiamo infatti che IN FLAMES e DOWN suoneranno all'Hellfest il 17 giugno e che i DARK TRANQUILLITY, DUFF MACKAGAN'S LOADED e STATIC-X suoneranno domenica 19 giugno!

Inoltre, segnaliamo che ANGEL WITCH e HAIL OF BULLETS suoneranno invece sabato 18 e non domenica 19 come previsto.

L'organizzazione si scusa ancora per questi cambiamenti!

HELLFEST 2011: la lineup completa
La prossima edizione dell'Hellfest è programmata dal 17 al 19 giugno 2011 a Clisson, in Francia. UNLEASHED, BLACKRAIN e MASTERS OF REALITY hanno cancellato la loro partecipazione e sono stati sostituiti da PRIMORDIAL, HEADCHARGER e THE DAMNED THINGS.

Hello!

This year seems to be going quite differently, after all the recent cancellations, the festival must also announce the cancelation of Gorguts and Skeletonwitch...

You are probably starting to think that there's been a lot of drop-outs and changes, and we understand. In the last announcement we didnt really give any reasons why we had to cancel so many bands, but we think now that it's important to give you a bit of insight on what goes on when you organize such an event. As fans ourselves of extreme music, nothing is more frustrating than having to cancel certain already booked artists, bands which for some of you are the reasons why you decided to make the trip to Clisson. Hellfest has always tried to informe its festival-goers as best as it can, this is why you will shortly be able to read a press release regarding the organization of the festival and in which all will be explained.

In the meantime, here are the names of the artists who will replace the 2 new "deserters". Firstly this is our friends of POSSESSED, one of the founders of death metal, a real true cult band! It has always been one of our top priorities and after numerous unsuccessful attempts to book them, we have asked them to replace GORGUTS (you'll discover soon why they have canceled their upcoming tour).

We are particularly proud of having managed to reach an agreement for a unique passage to Europe this summer! We’re proud to welcome a really rare band which will celebrate its first appearance at HELLFEST...

The second one is the brutal death metal band SEVERE TORTURE from the Netherlands which will also come to HELLFEST for its first appearance.

We truly hope that you’ll enjoy all the efforts that we do to find good replacements!

We always do our best to satisfy you and we will still do it despite what some people can say !
