Finnish folk metal band FINNTROLL is currently working on material for the follow-up to 2007's "Ur Jordens Djup". Keyboardist Henri "Trollhorn" Sorvali states, "It seems we are going to have nine songs on the album, and it will last about 39 minutes. But notice the punctuation on the word 'seems.' Everything can change, as this is FINNTROLL we're talking about."

He continues, "I personally think this will be our best album ever. Overall I can sense there's a lot 'punk' on it, lots of weirdness, a load of *riffs* instead of chord progressions, quite a bit of folkish parts and a lurking, evil atmosphere. In the terms of 'heaviness,' it's propably the heaviest album we've done, at least judging from the song material.

"I could pretty much safely say this sounds like a meaner and more wicked version of 'Ur Jordens Djup' with an occasional hint of the first album. For the dissappoitment for those who were waiting for songs sounding like 'Trollhammaren' or 'Jaktens Tid', I have to say that you propably should pick up the new KORPIKLAANI instead."

Ora c'è un gruppo cover, capitanato da Vreth, e fanno le canzoni dei Finntroll negli oratori, più del materiale loro che fa pietà ai sassi.

La cosa bella dei FinnTroll erano le esibizioni dal vivo, una vera festa, anche se alle volte il pogo si faceva un po' troppo pesante per i più deboli.

Dai dai che a settembre tornano in Italia!!

Album title and track.list revealed!!

The last leaves have fallen in the old world of Europe, stripping down the trees to wooden skeletons, and a dark wind is blowing from the coldest north to freeze your souls. FINNTROLL will blow their new album "Nifelvind" across the withered earth in February 2010. Everybody who thought that the album title is "Mot Skuggornas Värld" should learn his lesson to never trust a Troll. "Nifelvind" was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland and mastered by Mika Jussila (add any big Finnish Metal band for namedropping) at Finnvox Studios. The album cover artwork was done again by the band's own guitarist Skrymer.



FINNTROLL comments on the album as follows:

“After tough and hectic weeks in the studio, due to lack of time and summer festivals, we are now really, really pleased with the results. “Nifelvind” is the most advanced and mature FINNTROLL-album to date, with musical themes ranging from powerful death metal riffs to dark soundtracks, from pounding black metal to groovy 80's pop-music. All this is accompanied by our trademark sound, lots of never-before-heard instruments in the metal-scene, folklore and legends that make it overall the most versatile album we have created so far.”

Va grassa che non hanno annunciato le canzoni di chiesa... ma secondo me ci sono anche quelle....
Voto per l'eliminazione di Vreth e il ritorno di Wilska, prima di allora NULLA dei finntroll (volutamente minuscolo) può avere senso/essere bello/essere ascoltabile/avere il mio anche solo vago appoggio. Eccetto l'harakiri.

notata anch'io comunque non avevo aspettative su questo cd, non sarò deluso.

Le poche cose che son riuscito a sentire,mi sono sembrate valide...troppo presto comunque per giudicare...
