Nella mitologia Norrena il draugr viene identificato come una creatura non morta o come un fantasma (chiedo conferma). Ma qui si parla di Folk Black Metal con influenze Thrash direttamente dall'Abruzzo, i Draugr sono attivi dal 2002 e hanno nel loro curriculum già 3 demo e un full lenght



BIO:
Draugr project born in a cold winter night of Anno Bastardi 2002 when the ashes of some black metal bands returned back to life to celebrate the pagan spirit that characterizes our lives and our homeland. The first formation was oriented to an old-sytile black metal inspired by Dark Throne, Immortal and Marduk, and as the name of the band says there was a lot of inspiration from nordic culture, that gave birth to our musical genre. At that time Draugr had no name, it was composed by Svafnir, Stolas, Jonny and Tenebrion, this one due to personal motivations, left the band, and followed a period of crisis because all the musicians that wanted to play with us weren't really motivated. But the true spirit of Draugr born with the final configuration of the formation so we can hear Svafnir (vocals and composition),Triumphator(all guitars and composition), Stolas (bass guitar), Jonny (drums and percussions) and little by little the band built its style: thrashing folk pagan-black metal. As the wolf caracterizes our region, our music is inspired by the pagan force and wilderness of nature, the remembrance of archaic traditions, old local legends and barbarism, united with a proud satisfaction to be descendant of ancient italic warriors like Samnites, Marsii, Vestinii and Marrucinii. After the recordings of the first demos, Draugr began to play concerts with many underground italian black metal bands, followed the recording of a promo and finally the full lenght cd "Nocturnal Pagan Supremacy". After the recording sessions Draugr members obtain a deal with the well known underground label Christhunt productions. Recently Dox and Warth joined the band as session guitarists in order to give a stronger live impact. Draugr gave life in 2005 to Vrasthema project, together with Sturmkaiser and Dictatoreyes, to honour the music from Abruzzo and show to all the world the beauty of our pagan homeland.In 2007 Draugr are also proud to announce to the world their new member and brother Helsior (even member of the symphonic black metal band Dark Haunters) as keyboardplayer. Io ho trovato solo qualcosa sulla wiki (in inglese) e su google immagini, e parla di creature non morte o fantasmi... ma preferirei che l'informazione arrivasse comunque da un libro o da qualcuno che si interessa a questi argomenti (e avevo pensato a te e a Isj)

Draugr: lo spettro

E' lo spettro del morto che abita nel tumulo e può talora tornare sulla terra con greva pericolo per gli uomini. L'ordinamento del cosmo esige che ciascuno dei mondi sia separato dagli altri: così, in particolare la dimora dei morti, governata da Hel, ha muri straordinariamente alti e robusti cancelli. al medesimo scopo di impedire ai morti di tornare indietro si ha cura di fissare ai loro piedi le "scarpe di Hel" [Helskòr], li si fornisce nelle tombe di cibo e d'ogni oggetto necessario, o si provvede addirittura a staccar loro la testa mettendola all'altezza delle cosce o a conficcare un palo nel corpo perché esso rimanga fermo. [come ad esempio accadde a Mithothyn]
Nonostante queste precauzioni, i morti ritornano talvolta in questo mondo. E' nota nel folklore la credenza che nel cuore dell'inverno, nel periodo della festa della jòl, gruppi di anime morte ritornino sulla terra. Queste schiere di morti che assumono talora aspetto animale sono note nel folklore scandinano e germanico continentale: in Norvegia a esempio vanno sotto il nome di oskorei o juleskreia; singole figure di demoni che talora hanno assunto caratteri benevoli sopravvivono nello svedese julbock, norvegese julebukk, danese julebuk [caprone di Natale], che ripropone l'immagine del demone dei boschi abitatore di un tumulo.

edito e aggiungo 2 cose:
- Più spesso il morto che torna a tormentare i vivi è lo spirito di una persona che fu malvagia in vita
- La concezione negativa dello spettro si perpetua nella tradizione delle fiabe scandinave, dove talvolta si dice che questi spiriti vengono inviati da persone malvagie e danneggiare qualcuno
